Interested in achieving your goals? You're not alone! But there are tremendous resources out there, and it gets quite overwhelming to know where to start and who to follow. I want to simplify the process of achieving your goals for you. So today, I recommend the ONE book you need (plus a bonus suggestion) to follow to reach any worthwhile goal.
I am frequently asked, Where do I start to reach my goals? What's a good book to read? All of my coaching clients receive this book and we study it together. It's the book that my mentor, Bob Proctor, has studied every single day for over 50 years. It took the author 20 years of research and interviews to write.
Have a listen, and then go buy this book for yourself! Or even better, see if the goal achieving process I teach (which was handed down from this author) is right for you!
Achieving your goals - follow the masters!
We all want more out of life, yet most people don't take the action needed each day to make those dreams a reality. Thankfully, there is a road map to follow to reach your goals. Even better, it's a map that was set over 100 years ago and has been proven to work time and again by some of the greatest names in personal development, along with countless thousands of others you've never head of.
Have you heard of Jim Rohn, Earl Nightingale, Bob Proctor, or Tony Robbins? All of these greats are direct descendants, if you will, of Napoleon Hill.
To be the best, study what the best have done, and imitate them. Read, re-read, and study this book.

Well hello! Welcome. It's Jen. I had a wonderful question that a client asked me recently. I get asked this a lot, actually. And her question essentially was, “What do I read if I want to learn more about goal-setting?”
This question came from a woman who already has a fairly good understanding of setting goals. She has them written down and she visualizes her goals and she thinks about the endpoint of what she wants to achieve, which are some major steps with your goal.
And before I answer that question, I want to mention that – when you think about goal setting and achieving specific things, finding personal health, and healing from physical disease is exactly the same process that you use to achieve other goals that may involve earning more money, or finding a different job, or finding a new home, or finding the perfect partner in life. The process for achieving these things is exactly the same.
Now I do have another post and video where I shared with you two of my primary resources that I use and recommend to all my clients for healing from physical disease and those symptoms. So if you're interested in that specifically, those are books by Karol Truman, Feelings Buried Alive Never Die, and Louise Hay, You Can Heal Your Life. And I'll link to that so that you can find that if you want to learn more about those books. Those are specifically for healing.
But again, the process, from this book I'm going to recommend for achieving any other goal, it's the same process that you use to heal your physical body as well.
OK. So this book that I would recommend that anyone read who wants to learn how to achieve their own goals in life is Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill.
This book contains everything that you need to achieve any of your goals. It outlines in every chapter step-by-step, the process that is necessary for you to undertake to manifest your goals and to make them a reality in your life. This book was written by Napoleon Hill in 1937. He was actually commissioned by Andrew Carnegie to study the secrets of success, those that had made Andrew Carnegie so successful. And in the process, Napoleon Hill spent 20 years interviewing over 500 people who had become millionaires or multimillionaires, and distilling this process that these people undertook to create this wealth and this happiness in their lives.
And it's important to realize that thinking and becoming rich is not necessarily or just about becoming financially rich. You can have wealth in all the various forms that it is available to you in this world. You can have wealth in terms of your relationships, wealth in terms of your health, your well-being, your happiness, and financial prosperity.
So the process is the same – again – whether you want to be wealthy monetarily or whether you want to be wealthy in body and in mind and in spirit. And honestly what I would also say, if you haven't considered it yet, is that it's the same thing. If you are unhealthy in one area of your life, but you seem to have wealth and success in other areas, then there are pieces of the puzzle that you're missing and you're not applying the processes that are outlined in this book correctly to those areas of your life.
One thing you can do is look at the different aspects of your life and see, where do I lack what I really want? Maybe you're very successful financially but you have poor health. Or maybe you have great health but you don't have the finances. And take a look at your relationships and the type of work that you do. The areas that you're successful in, you are probably already applying some of these principles whether you're aware of it or not.
So then take a look at the areas where you want more growth and more success and apply these principles. And I want to read just a little brief part here in the beginning:
“There has never been another book like it nor ever can be.” (He's referring to this book.) “It was inspired by Andrew Carnegie who disclosed his formula of personal achievement to the author Napoleon Hill many years ago. Thousands of persons have applied the famous philosophy of this book for their own enrichments. Its secrets are as timeless and practical as when the first edition was published. It is pre-eminently a what-to-do and how-to-do-it book.”
This is not the kind of book that you buy - (or you can find for free on the internet actually as well in different formats. And I will link to this specific one because there are various adaptations, if you will, that have been made since the original publication. This is the original wording. so this is the one that I recommend) - but there is a formula to follow. And this is not something that you just read through once and put down and be done with it.
In fact I've got my my little markers, I've got dog-eared pages, things are underlined and highlighted as you look throughout the book. This is the type of book that you study and then you apply it and then you read it over and over and over again. And the lineage from Napoleon Hill is really quite amazing when you look at the people who are and have become very successful that have followed his teachings. There is much, much wisdom to be gained from this book. So this is where you want to start.
There is one other book that I would also recommend that is an incredibly good book, if you want more understanding of how to harness the power of your thoughts and of your subconscious mind. And really that's what Think and Grow Rich is about. Think, and grow rich. It's about how you use your thoughts and how you use your mind to create the wealth and the abundance that you want for yourself. And so it's very helpful to have, eventually, to delve into a deeper understanding of how it works and to read more examples of how that works.
The other book that I recommend is this one: The Power of Your Subconscious Mind by Joseph Murphy.
This is an incredible book that gives you a lot more details. It's very easy to read. Each chapter has a list of pointers or specific summary points that you can understand, and he gives you multiple, multiple examples of people who have used this process of the way that they think about things and the way they perceive things to create the experiences that they want for themselves in life.
As you look at the different posts and videos on my website as well, you will find much of this information providers here provided here for you to study and to learn and to follow.
The process is very simple. But as has been said by many people. if it's simple to do it's also simple not to do.
Your ability or your likelihood of success in any endeavor will depend on your commitment to that endeavor and applying those small habits day by day by day. One of the main things that is necessary to do every single day that Napoleon Hill talks about, that Joseph Murphy talks about, that anyone who teaches about creating the life that you want for yourself will talk about is that: you have to know what you want, and you need to spend time every day visualizing what you want, reading a description of what you want, and thinking about what you want. And the best time to do that is early in the morning as you're waking up, shortly after you have woken up, and at night as you're getting ready to fall asleep.
So again if you want to work on your goals, any goal, it doesn't matter if that's health or finances or relationships, or whatever it is, start with this: Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. And then add to your reading, your studying, The Power of Your Subconscious Mind by Joseph Murphy. These books are incredibly helpful and they give you lots of information that will show you the path that you can follow to have wealth and abundance, not just financially but in all areas of your life and whereever you want it. I hope that's been helpful for you. Happy reading!
