All lands have spiritual guardians. After meeting with many guardians, I wanted to understand more about then. Why does each space have a guardian? What is its role? How is the size of the space that a guardian oversees determined? How is the guardian chosen or selected? Those are the questions we’ll uncover today.
Evil comes to attack
8.56 a.m. Friday, July 25th. I am at Sunderbruch Park overlooking the prairie. I’ve meet guardians who are new, and those who are quite seasoned and weary. Most are good, but I have encountered an evil guardian.
I’ve come to the park today to ask this land to teach me about guardians. I have already prayed, identified myself as a disciple of Christ, and expressed my request.
While I was praying, a being came up behind me and tapped me on the shoulder. When I turned around it took a swing at me. I simply waved my arm and blocked it with a dome of light and I have not been accosted since. We will see what happens going forward.
This is what I receive. Notice how much is about agency and making choices.
Guardian are needed because we are at war
The guardian of the space is chosen based on purity and love and on the specific traits, specific character traits that are needed for that space. Some spaces need to be tended to and nurtured. Others need to be protected fiercely.
There is a war going on around you in the spirit realm, just as there is a war going on around you in your physical world.
While most do not realize this or deny that it is a war, it is a war nonetheless. There are various ways to fight a war. Read of Moroni in the Book of Mormon. What did Captain Moroni do? Learn from him.
The guardian of this space is here to create, to create more goodness and more light, to bring more power to the side of good, in the world that is physical and in the world that is unseen. It is time for you to add your voice to the physical world. To help this guardian and others who are here to create good and to bring forth light.
The way to overcome darkness is through light. And that is what this guardian does. And that is what you are here to do. Overcome darkness by shining your light.
Character traits of spirit land guardians
Guardians are chosen based on willingness and desire to serve. None are called against their will, for such is antithesis to the laws of nature and of all that is. None can be chosen or forced to do that which they do not desire. It is not in the economy of heaven to operate in such fashion, only the economy of men and of lower beings.
The size of the space which each guardian protects varies greatly and sometimes changes with time. Some guardians oversee only one or two plants or trees or buildings or things, while some guardians oversee vast amounts of space, land, and time. It depends upon the strength or the work that is needed in each place.
Think of it like the stewardship you are given over your home and over other things in your life. Some people have small things for which they are responsible while others have much larger responsibilities. It is the same for the guardians.
Guardians and our own stewardships
Guardians are like stewards. They are given their work and their place. They know what they are there to do, and they know to whom they report. They are focused on the work that they do, so much that they do not necessarily see or have an awareness of the state of all things, just as it is with you and the work that you do.
All things need to be tended to and protected in some form, fashion, or manner. This is why there are guardians and why there are stewardships. You learn these principles in your own life through your roles, through your callings, by being a parent or a teacher or a CEO or an employee. All things require care and tending, just as the Lord cares and tends for you.
Guardians know what is needed in the space because the space shows it what it is needed. Guardians also know what is needed because it is part of the commission that they are given when they are assigned to a place and a space and a time.
Ask, and receive in abundance
If you are not sure what your role is, simply ask your Father in Heaven who giveth to all men liberally and upbraideth not. He will tell you if you are there to care for, to nurture, or to protect and defend. Ask, child. Always ask. Ask and you will receive and it will be given unto you more than you need. Always more than you need. Is not this glorious?
You are given more than you need because it gives you the ability to continue to learn to utilize your agency and to make a choice. There is no wrong choice when you choose from these multiple options. Simply choose as seemeth you fit and notice and see what the outcome is. That is all. There is no punishment or condemnation for making choices in this manner.
It is simply to learn to choose and to see cause and effect, in and out, back and forth. What happens when you make one choice and what happens when you make another? What happens when you do not choose something? All things have consequences. Not all consequences are negative. They are simply different.
Learn to choose by looking at the abundance and seeing and finding the abundance which you have been given in your space and in your roles.
Find joy in this process. This is how the guardians grow and progress, just as you as a human grow and progress. By learning to choose among the abundance which your Heavenly Father has blessed you with. The more you follow and the more you learn, the more choices will be put before you.
Reflect upon your choices and upon their outcomes. This is how you gain wisdom. Consult with me and I will guide you, but I will never tell you exactly which choice to choose, especially as you continue to grow.
In this matter, all things progress. Choice after choice, time after time. When all that is before you is good, simply choose. That is all.
The spiritual and physical worlds are parallels
I love how the physical world and the spiritual world are parallels of each other. The principles are the same, just experienced in different ways.
Agency is paramount above all. One of our major purposes on Earth is to learn to choose. We must have opposites, light and dark, so that we can choose.
If making decisions is a challenge for you, take heart! It’s a challenge because it is so important to our growth and purpose. A favorite scripture about agency is from 2 Ne 10:23, “Therefore, cheer up your hearts, and remember that ye are free to act for yourselves—to choose the way of everlasting death or the way of eternal life.”
Look at how you’re using your agency, assess the impact of your decisions, and let Heavenly Father guide you to grow in wisdom. God loves you, and he will guide you as you grow, day by day.
