God speaks to us in many ways. He has organized and restored his church on earth in these latter days, with Jesus at the head of the church. Many think they can worship God on their own, in nature. While God can be found anywhere, there are blessings that come from belonging to the church that are not found anywhere else.
God's truths are simple
3:35am. I'm sitting at my desk, groggy and half-awake. I'm a bit late. Yesterday, the Spirit instructed me to meet with my ancestors at 3am. My alarm went off at 2:50am, and I jolted awake at 3:30.
As always, I start with a prayer. I do my best to focus. I tune in, and begin to see.
I get a fleeting image of me at my desk, hearing a number of spirits talking, and a man in armor who comes and stands behind me to my left, and Theodore, my guide and helper, with his clipboard. But it's not that clear. I receive a little poem. This is the last stanza:
The mysteries of men are vast and deep,
And keep many wandering in glue.
But the truths of God are simple and glorious!
And bring one always to new views.
Blessing #1 of the need for a church: we need each other to be saved
Finally, I hear Theodore. "Good morning, Ms. Bessire."
"Hi Theodore," I reply. "I'm sorry, I know I'm late. I'm also having a hard time seeing anything." When I look (clairvoyance), I see dark grey, like clouds, covering my view of things.
"I know. There is a darkness covering the land this morning. All is at it should be. Let's just move it aside." He pushes it, and it does move, like a movie set on wheels. I still don't see, but I hear.
Charles and Charlie, ancient of kin
He rolled the dice, but didn't win
Please tell his story so all is not lost
How to recover, and dispel the frost.
The voice that speaks next is gruff, bringing to mind an image of an old, weathered man. I assume it's Charlie.
"I wandered for most of my life. I didn't know who I was or why I was born. The earth was flat and dreary. Much darkness covered the land at the time I lived. It was a sad and dreary experience. There was no joy, no goodness, no light or liveliness. It was so very sad."

"When I came here, it wasn't much different. But I was excited to see flickers of light. I was hungry for light, so I followed them. They brought instant joy to my heart, and seemed familiar in some way that I can't explain."
"As they started to teach me about Jesus, an image came to mind. I saw myself as a little child, sitting at the feet of my Heavenly Father. He was teaching me, telling me stories. It felt incredibly peaceful. The more I met with these people [the missionaries], the more memories I had."
"All that is needed now is for someone to do my work! Many of us are waiting, anticipating, the day when we can move on, move forward, progress. Please share the gospel. Help others to know that we need them to be saved. We must all be saved together, with each other. This is part of the plan!"
Blessing #2: the church is a place of gathering
Approximately twelve hours later... 3:26pm, Vander Veer park. I'm sitting under a beautiful, large American Sycamore tree. I've come to gather and share another story.
It's a beautiful, early spring day. The sun is bright, and I sit against the tree with my face to the sun. It feels wonderful, although I periodically touch my laptop to make sure it's not getting too hot.
Do you realize that there are many who have stories that are waiting to be shared? Our ancestors, the dead, the trees, nature, they all have stories of being gathered. Stories of Jesus. Stories of who we are, and why we're here.
I start with a prayer, sitting on my blanket, with my fingers poised over the keyboard on my laptop, ready to receive. I tell this beautiful tree that I would like to hear the story it has to share that will bring others to Jesus, and to his church.
The sycamore begins.
"Ah, yes. The story of creation and of all that is. Jesus is the glue that holds all together. The energy of union, of becoming. Without Jesus, there is no progression, no growth, no freedom from sin. Through him and through his church, all can be gathered in. All who are seeking will find, for they always do. Perhaps not in the time frame they desire, but that is of no matter. Results come eventually. They must, for that is the law."
"Now. Listen with your heart, child. What do you hear?"
I tune into my heart, and notice people crying out, looking for relief from suffering.
The tree continues its lesson. "The light and the darkness are always present. The light is always waiting for the darkness to find it. The light will present itself, but will not coerce. It will make itself known, but it must be sought for to be recognized. Do you know what this means?"
"I believe it means that we must seek if we want to find light. But please explain it to me." I have learned that when I am asked if I know what something means, it is always wise for me to ask for understanding.
"Very well. It means that all is good. That all is a game, a dance, a play. An eternal play of seeking and finding, of hide and seek! There are eternal consequences, and eternal laws that govern the game. What seek ye? Always make that known, so the game can begin. Without making known what you seek for, there is no game. Only muck and confusion."
"What else can you tell me about the light and the darkness, and this game?"
"All was decreed long ago, before you were. The stage has been set in place, the rules defined, the space created. Remember that creation requires a name and a place and a space. Boundaries. You are here to learn to create, and to guide others who are also learning the same thing."
Blessing #3: the church is where we learn to create eternal progression instead of damnation
"Where does the church fit into this?"
"The church is the ultimate place for creation to take place. Without the church there is still creation, but it is very disorganized and yet dark. Within the church there is purity and goals, eternal progression. Creation that will endure, instead of creation that is damned."
"I seek union with God, with Jesus the Christ and Heavenly Father who created me and all that is."
"Yes! That is why we speak, and why you hear. You are to share. That is your part in the union, in becoming one."
"Some are to share, and some are to receive. Give and take, up and down, in and out. There is polarity that must be experienced. Before there simply was. Now, there is was and will be and has been. An eternal round, with consequences and desires and games and rules and space and place. All that is and all that was, and all that will be. All are contained within your heart and your universe. See them, find them, share them! This will bring you much joy. Joy beyond measure! Joy is the measure of creation." (See 2 Ne 2:25)
"Thank you for this time and for speaking with me. I must leave soon. Is there something else you would share, or something else I should ask you?"
"Be at peace. Enjoy your days. Remember the good you do each day. Honor the passage of time and the need for time. All is well and all is as it should be. Peace."
And with that, the tree comes down and wraps its arms around me and gives me a hug.
