Learning about Jesus never ends, even after death

 September 20, 2024

Why don’t all spirits return to Jesus and Heavenly Father immediately after they die? Even good people who have been baptized sometimes have to wait. Today, my great-grandmother shares what happened to her when she died, why some people don’t meet Jesus immediately, and how baptism is a blessing.

Our families are happy to see us

As usual, I'm up before dawn to meet with my ancestors. I get the privilege of meeting with them to share their stories.

What is it like when we die? What do we find in the afterlife?

One thing that's been fun for me to learn is that our families are happy to see us. Those I have met with enjoy getting time to talk and share what they have learned.

This is the meeting with with my great-grandmother, Grace. She was a big influence on my aunt.

As always, I start with prayer, asking for humility, guidance, and protection. As I finish, I see her.

"Good morning, Grace," I say.

"Good morning, child. Oh, it is a pleasure to see you. It is so much fun to see all the good you are doing. The spirit world, our family, we are so very thankful for your efforts."

"I know it is a struggle for you at times, but it is such good and important work, these meetings. Thank you. Thank you for trusting and for following through. This really is exciting for me to talk with you this morning."

I reply, "I am quite grateful, as well. I know that Aunt Barb is grateful for your influence in her life. And I have felt of your presence and your love for me before."

"Yes. Yes, we have encountered each other before," she says, with a twinkle in her eye.

Do your work without fear

"Now, though, I am here to share my story about Jesus with you. I pray that it will be a blessing to those who receive it. I know that most will not, but that is not important."

"I pray that you realize this, too. Jen, it does not matter who receives and who does not. That is not for us. What is for us is to share."

"Share. Share boldly, whenever asked to do so. Always do the work given to you. Do not fear, but step out in faith to share what you are given."

(As she says this, I see a line of light energy that goes forth as we share something. It multiplies, like a family tree, going out in many more directions.)

"Yes! All we share goes out in that manner. It spreads. Okay, I am here to share my story. So be it."

We must be cleansed to be with Jesus

"The year was 1963. I was yet lost. I had died already, and came to the spirit world, anticipating a glorious reunion with Jesus and my family." (Grace was active in her Presbyterian church.)

"The time is important. We must go through cleansing before we can fully be accepted into rest with Jesus."

"There is so much misinformation out there. It is difficult to know the truth, because of the nature of the world."

"It is meant to be that way, for a purpose. But many are so lost. This is why our meetings are important. They bring truth and light to your world."

We recognize more truth after we are baptized

"When we are baptized, our eyes are opened. We are able to more clearly discern the light from the dark."

"I accepted what the missionaries here taught me. I had already accepted Jesus during my time on earth. I needed yet to be taught more. It is glorious to receive more! More of the truth is always glorious!"

"When we are taught more of Jesus on this side of the veil, it is easier to accept his truth. Our eyes more clearly see the darkness, and so when we have already heard of him, we desire more of him."

Learn about Jesus

"Accept the truth of Jesus now, while you are on the earth. Hear his voice, and heed his call. He is always calling."

"It really is so beautiful, the entire plan that has been prepared for us."

"Now, there is nothing to fear about death, or dying, or coming here. You will find what you seek. What do you seek? Do you seek for goodness, or for evil? Both are present."

"I am sorry, but I must go. It is time for me to leave. Thank you for lending your ear. I hope we can meet again soon. There is much more I would like to share with you!"

Learning about Jesus never ends, even after we die

I love what Grace said about truth and receiving more, that more of the truth is always glorious! I wholeheartedly agree.

In order to receive more truth, we must be willing to set aside what we think we know to be true. We must be humble and have an open mind. But when we are really seeking for something, this isn't difficult.

And as she said about the afterlife, we find what we are seeking. What are you seeking?

I know that as we ask for more truth and greater understanding, God will reveal it to us. He loves it when we seek and ask. He wants us to come unto him.

May you be blessed in your seeking, ever growing in an understanding of truth.
