Spirit Stories: Spirits who are searching for Christ

 November 26, 2022

Have you ever wondered what the spirit world is like? What happens to us after we die? Well, there are many spirits who are searching for Christ. I have a gift for communicating with the spirit world. As a disciple of Christ, I've been repeatedly prompted to share stories of the spirit world with others who are searching for truth.

Heeding the promptings

The Lord wants to communicate with you. He has a plan for you, he knows who you are, and he loves you. He communicates with us through the Holy Spirit.

For awhile, the Spirit has been prompting me to meet with spirits and share their stories.

I have the gift of mediumship. I've used this gift over the years in working one on one with my energy healing and coaching clients. Spirits would often appear during a healing session. They were always related to the client.

The Lord has blessed me with the gift of communicating with spirits so that I can share with you. Our gifts are to be used to bless others.

What is the spirit world like?

In my experience, the spirit world is not really that different from this world.

In fact, Brigham Young taught that "If the Lord would permit it, and it was his will that it should be done, you could see the spirits that have departed from this world, as plainly as you now see bodies with your natural eyes." (Reference)

One of my favorite Bible stories is in 2 Kings. The Syrian king wanted to capture Elisha the prophet, so he sent an army to surround the city where Elisha was staying. Early in the morning, Elisha and his servant saw the army. Elisha's servant was afraid and asked Elisha what they should do. Elisha told him not to fear, because those of God outnumbered those of the Syrian army.

"And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eye, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha."

We can't see the spirit world with our natural eyes, but the spirits are present all around us.

There are many in the spirit world who are lost, just as many people are lost here on the earth.

Spirits who are searching for Christ

The stories I share in this post are from spirits who lived in this world and died without a knowledge of the Savior, Jesus Christ. He is the one we need to follow if we want eternal life.

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (John 14:6, KJV)

There are spirits who are searching for Christ. Even in the spirit world, there is still light and dark, good and evil. Just as we have to choose Christ and choose good in human form, so we have to make the same choice in spirit form. Christ always calls us to come to him. We must seek after him.

Finding Christ in the spirit world

So, let's now dive into my experience early one morning with these spirits searching for Christ...

It's 5:20am, and the sky is still dark. I sit at my desk and bow my head in prayer, asking Heavenly Father for guidance and for the ability to discern what he would have me share.

A large group of spirits come eagerly to my desk before I even finish my prayer. They have a story to tell, and all want to be heard.

First is Karen. A woman in her 30's or early 40's, dressed in grey clothing that's torn and tattered.

Haggard and torn,
Worn out to the bone,
Seeking and searching
For the place called home.

She says to me, "I knew that if I kept searching, I would find. After all, that is the promise, isn't it?"

Karen speaks truth. Christ does promise, over and over, that if we seek, we will find.

"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened." (Matt 7:7-8)

Next I hear from Ralph. This is his story, short and to the point:

Stuck and despondent,
Run down and tired,
Wanting the way out,
But not feeling inspired.

There are other spirits who come to help me with the crowd. We all have spirit guides, and three of mine show up to keep things in order.

As I take in the scene and sense all those present, the Spirit brings this poem to me:

Do not delay!
We all want to say
The stories within our hearts.
Bring others to me
To let them all see
The peace that Jesus imparts.
For we had been searching,
Some centuries or more,
To find and encounter and discover this door.
For one true way only can let us all in,
Provide what we we're seeking,
Freedom from sin.
Sin keeps you trapped,
Stuck in your heart,
Separate and holding,
Not knowing you're apart.
Lost from the One and the only way in,
Christ the Redeemer, freer of sin.

Julie comes next. She shares, "My parents didn't tell me who Jesus Christ was. They couldn't impart knowledge not given to them."

I felt sad and lonely but didn't know why.
One day a twinkling caught the corner of my eye.
I saw a new light, one not seen before.
It pulled at my heart, and I wanted more.
To know of this way that could feel oh so good,
And fill my heart, yet be understood.

Julie continues, "Most other spirits I've encountered in this place can't share what I was missing because they don't have the faith. Their dreams and desires are still of your world, infatuation with riches and power and girls. They seek after things that leave you empty and unfulfilled."

Julie also speaks truth, just as Karen did.

The desires that we have in our hearts don't leave us when we leave this world. Our nature is not suddenly changed.

Who we are here, and what we seek after, is what we will still want once we die. It is the spirit that inhabits the body. When we die, the spirit leaves the body. But the desires, the cravings, the knowledge and experiences of our mortal existence stay with us because they're part of our spirit.

What brings you peace? What do you feel calling you within your heart? Pay heed to the promptings. Follow all things that are good, and you will find what you seek.

I stop to pray and receive guidance from the Lord, who tells me to talk to Samuel.

Samuel excitedly climbs onto my lap. "I knew you'd help us! I know you'll find our names! I know you're looking for us!"

I sense another presence-to my left I see his mother, holding a baby girl in her arms. She smiles, looking weary but thankful.

I start to cry - all of these spirits, these people searching for Jesus and needing to be sealed.

Lost and not knowing, seeking a way.
Looking and searching, day after day.
Trapped in a place, a big railway station,
Needing a ticket and way to next nation.

Christ is our true way to all that we seek. There is no other way that leads to eternal life, and to everything we want.
