The Divine Invitation: Remember Who You Are

 September 5, 2024

There are many distractions in our world that lead us away from our inner spark. Without time in quiet and in the truth, we forget who we are. God calls to you, inviting you to leave the darkness behind and to remember who you are, and to remember Him.

Being forgetful isn't just for the aging. Forgetting is a normal human trait. That's why there are so many planners and apps available today! And thank goodness for internet bookmarks. We all need help remembering things.

Over and over, the scriptures tell us to remember. Prophets have repeatedly taught that we must remember the Lord our God, and keep his commandments.

There are two truths to remember that are crucial to our happiness and joy here on earth. First, we must remember who we are. Second, we must remember our Creator.

Remember who you are

The truth of who we are is not complicated. Yet we easily forget when we are dealing with the daily stressors of life. Or even when we're having a joyful day!

You are a child of God, made by Him before you came here to earth.

You existed as a spirit, with a personality and tendencies, long before you received your physical body.

I have found it especially helpful to remember who I am when I have having a rough time or feeling that something is beyond my capabilities.

I remind myself that I am a child of God.

This means that I have power to overcome whatever challenge I am facing. God will give us the strength we need, all we have to do is ask.

Remember your Father in Heaven

We did not create ourselves. All things that are created have a creator.

God is the grand creator, the divine designer. He made you, he made this earth, and he made many other people and places through the vast universe.

He also created a plan, the Plan of Salvation. He did this because he knew that we would need help returning to him again.

Part of the plan included the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Through Jesus, we can return to our Heavenly Father again.

As the Spirit instructs in this poem, the way to return is to go into our hearts and find God there.

Often, our hearts are hard from the difficult things we have experienced in life. One way to heal that hardness is through an energy healing session. You can learn more about that here.

I Am the Way

Watch your words, watch what you say.
You have the power to create each day.
Send forth love from lips free from guile,
Let all your words go forth with a smile!
Speak what you know, what sits in your heart.
Bring others to Me, so they can learn who they are.

Made by a King, a Father above,
Created with purpose, one full of love.
To know who they are, to learn to obey,
For to follow my laws is to win the day.

Suffering and pain sit deep in the heart.
Men are afraid to know who they are.
Teachings of priests and men of the cloth
Foretold a future of sin and of loss.
Shame and hiding, wandering astray,
Men think I hate them, and go their own way.

It saddens my heart that my children are lost.
That they think I left them, alone and distraught.
If only they knew how much they were loved,
Created with kindness and made from above.

Jesus, my Son, was sent to this earth
That all may have the choice of rebirth.
To step out of the darkness and into the light,
The one that can save them from all of their plights.
Suffering and distance do not need to be,
Bring all who are looking, remind them of Me.

I am their Father, one with creation
For I made this universe and other stations
Places and planets, spaces aplenty,
Where all those I love have free reign and it's sunny!

For the light of my Son goes out through all places,
His light is love and radiates in all spaces.
All that is needed is a change of your heart,
Let go of the thoughts that leave you in dark.
Seek for the good and the light you will find,
Seek for the truth, let Christ into your mind.

Think and ponder, ask if it's true.
Open your heart, be humble and new.
Can you consider something outside
Of what you've been taught by blind and false guides?

Men have been teaching false truths since first time.
It's part of the plan, for all things are mine.
I made all, and created the laws.
Ordinances and sacrifice were made with applaud.
Glory to God, it's so plain to see,
All in your world sings and testifies of Me!

Everything here, all you can see,
Speaks out with love and wants you to be
Free of the dark, free of the pain
All that is needed is to look and regain.

Come back to your source, come back to your center.
I sit in all hearts, I'm there to uncover.
You must choose with faith, for that is the key
That opens the way and allows you to see
All that is truth, all that you know,
Is already there, just trust Me and let go.

The truth has been hidden, but not with intent
Seeking and finding are paths to repent.
Bring forth the goodness already within,
Come unto your Savior, he'll free from all sin.

Christ shows the way, he is the light
He's encountered all darkness, and he knows your plight.
Your struggles and sorrows, feeling ever so lost,
Let him guide your heart, for he's paid the cost.
He knows the way, his is the path,
To bring you the freedom you seek at last.

Remembering brings peace

Reminding ourselves of who we are and turning our thoughts to God and Jesus throughout the day can be difficult. This is a sweet story of how a few minutes recording the goodness of God each night can impact your life.
